WHAKATANE GOLF CLUB – GOLF ASSISTANT POSITION

 Are you passionate about golf and delivering exceptional customer service? The Whakatane Golf Club is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Golf Assistant.
A rewarding 18-hole challenge for golfers of all levels. WGC is one of the finest golf courses in the Bay of Plenty boasting strong links with the local community and a passionate membership of 600.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to members and visitors.
  • Assist customers with purchases, offering expert advice on golf equipment, apparel, and accessories.
  • Manage inventory, restock shelves, and ensure the shop is always well-presented.
  • Handle cash, card transactions, and process payments efficiently.
  • Assist with bar and self-catering tasks.
  • Support the organisation of promotions, events, and sales campaigns.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of golf products and trends.
  • Book tee times and manage reservations through the Dot Golf system.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A passion for golf (knowledge of the sport is highly advantageous).
  • Customer-focused with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous retail or sales experience is beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work a roster - weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
